The Ever-present Absentee – Hameed Alkifaey

a Masters’ degree in Translation from the University of Westminster and a BA in Economics from the University of London. He has worked in journalism, media management and scientific research for several international institutions, including the BBC, MBN, Clarivate and the United Nations. He lectured in political economics, political science, Arabic literature, Islam and modernity at the Universities of Westminster and Exeter, and as an adviser to the Web of Science. He has written several books in Both Arabic and English on politics, economics, media and literature; “The Failure of Democracy in Iraq”, published by UK publishers Routledge and a novel (The Border Crosser) by Iraqi publishers Dhifaf. He has written hundreds of articles and papers on political science, economics and culture for scientific research centres and Arab and international newspapers.
